Table

1978.215      Leaf Plates – Green glazed earthen ware, early 20th century, England, Wedgwood.  Cut out and impressed with a leaf pattern.

1986.1545      Plates – Cream-colored earthenware, 1780, England.  Featheredge rim with a border of reticulated panels and molded swag decoration.

1978.476      Liqueur Glasses – Hand-blown lead crystal; Steuben Glass, 1940’s from a17th century shape, America. 

1978.463      Water Tumblers – Blown green glass, possibly Steuben Glass, early 20th century, America; straight-sided cylindrical shape with downward curved flared rim.

1978.248      Table Linens – Yellow Double damask, early 20th century, American.  Decorated with bands of vines the table cloth has two hand embroidered monograms (one at each end) as well as one on each napkin.  The monogram is “ESR” for Edith Rosenwald Stern.

1978.603      Candlesticks – cream-colored earthenware, Leeds Pottery, 20th century, England; square based pierced stem design with small gallery of baluster-like forms for candle holder.

1978.636      Sunflower Tureens – two of a set of four earthenware tureens in the shape of sunflowers with top and stand; Leeds Pottery, early 20th century, England.

1978.579      Centerpiece – Cream-colored earthenware, Leeds, 1775, England.  Circular base with pierced diamond pattern supports two trays of five shells with a classical figure for “Plenty” on top.

1982.1779   Cream Soup Tureen – cream-colored earthenware, Wedgwood, circa 1785, England; Round footed-pot with engine turned decoration, cover topped with a roe-shaped finial.

1986.588   Fruit Basket – cream-colored earthenware, Leeds Pottery, 20th century, England; oval shaped basket with pierce work design.

**Because of the amount of wine that Mr. Stern had imported for his wine cellar he had his own license number and label.  Each bottle on display has the label “Imported by Edgar B. Stern for personal, not for commercial consumption”.
