2
Explore the Lucy C. Roussel Discovery Garden for
things that live in gardens. Crush herbs, sprout a seedling, dig
for worms and more. Pre- and early-reader signs help children
explore the garden on this facilitated Discovery Garden lesson.

Discovery Zone: Grades 3 - 5
Can you make houses and food out of grass? Some cultures make
them out of one of the LARGEST grasses in the world - come find
out which one! Explore our 1/2-acre, interactive garden and learn
what else comes from gardens. Pot up a bean, recycle your compost
and be a Landscape Architect in the Lucy C. Roussel Discovery
Garden.

Teachers and Chaperone:
Minimum requirement of 1 chaperone for every 6 students under 8 years old; for every 10 students over 8 years old.
Field trip times:
Monday through Friday: 9:30am to 2:00pm, depending on availability;
50% Deposit is due at booking. Payments may be made by check, cash, credit card.

Weather
Weather Cancellations: Outdoor field trips will be rescheduled
when raining. In case of inclement weather, please call 488-5488, ext 311 the day of your visit to reschedule.
Bus Parking
After unloading on Bamboo Road, school buses MUST park off-site. Individuals may park in the Visitor Lot.
Lunch/Snacks
Groups may bring their own lunches/snacks and eat on site depending on availability. Advance arrangements must be made. |
