Although difficult to grow sucessfully in New Orleans due to
its love of dry, rocky, mediterranean conditions, Longue Vue
is fortunate to have a marvellous specimen in the Discovery
Garden.
Goldenrod 'Fireworks'

This form of the roadside wildflower has a groundcover-like
habit of growth with vivid, 12-18" tall golden fountains
of blooms that do very much resemble fireworks! |

Hyacinth Bean

The beautiful vine with the funny latin name! The hyacinth bean
is not only a great butterfly attractor but an important food
source for Africa and Asia.

The bloom of this unusual native perennial definitely does resemble
a little turtle with its head poking out from under its shell!
